Off contract this month, Lingard is interesting the Giallorossi, says La Gazzetta dello Sport.
A move to Roma would mean a reunion with former United manager Jose Mourinho, with the pair getting along well at Old Trafford.
Lingard's agent has offered him to Roma - and they're keen.
Ironically, Mourinho is keen on Lingard to replace former United teammate Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who set for an Inter Milan medical on Monday.
