Chris Kirchner's takeover of Derby County is at risk of collapse.
The Daily Mail says the American businessman has been unable to deliver the funds to close the deal at 'multiple' meetings in the last week.
Kirchner has stated on social media that Bank Holidays in the US and UK is complicating negotiations.
But despite the assurances made to fans, those close to the deal fear it is about to fall over.
"We are waiting. Is it today or tomorrow...?" a source said. "It is a very strange situation. It is a completely unacceptable situation."
Derby were relegated from the Championship last season after entering administration.
