KOTA KINABALU: A woman went into labour on her own in her Perodua Viva car along the roadside here, Wednesday.
A 1.50pm distress call prompted Lintas firefighters led by Haellven Venson to the scene opposite the Singer store along Jalan Lintas-Kolombong.
Upon arrival at the scene, the Fire and Rescue Emergency Medical Response Services team helped tie the baby girl's umbilical cord.
The team assisted the mother and child out of the car after officials from the Ministry of Health finished cutting the umbilical cord before transferring them to the hospital's ambulance to be sent to the hospital for follow-up treatment.
