Kota Kinabalu: The grassroots football coaching course organised by Sabah Football Association (Safa) on Tuesday is in line with the directive from Sabah Football Association (Safa) President Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin to develop the sport in the State.

Some 30 people participated in the course held at the Likas synthetic pitch for practical sessions and at the Maksak building for theory classes.

Safa technical director Omar Maya Amat, who conducted the course, said it is one of the directions outlined by Bung to produce more qualified coaches, especially in the rural areas to continue the development.

“The course provided an opportunity for the participants to know and practise the knowledge of modern football.

“Hopefully with the increase in the number of qualified coaches, it can help to produce more new talents at the grassroots level,” he said on Tuesday.
