Former Newcastle striker Jon Dahl Tomasson is in advanced talks with Blackburn Rovers.
The former Malmo FF coach will succeed Tony Mowbray, who has stepped down at Ewood Park.
Tomasson is waiting for his work permit and Blackburn expect to present him within 48 hours, says Sky Sports.
Blackburn finished in eighth place in the Championship last season.
Tomasson led Malmo to back-to-back Allsvenskan titles before leaving last season.
