GABUNGAN Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is considering creating a Students Wing and GRS Plus Wing to boost the spirit of a united Sabah, said its Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor.

He said the Students Wing is for students as requested by the group, while GRS Plus Wing brings together political bodies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and any party at once.

“Apart from direct membership as a member of GRS, creating the Women Wing and Youth Wing, we should immediately consider creating our Student Wing following the request of this group, and the GRS Plus Wing which brings together the political bodies, NGOs and any party.

“The precondition is that togetherness must be based on the sharing of goals and strong beliefs as well as full adherence to the spirit, agenda, thrusts and principles of GRS.

“In order to invigorate the spirit of a united Sabah, I will discuss with my fellow leaders to work on other strategies and approaches to bring more Sabahans together in this noble struggle,” he said when officially launching the GRS at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu on May 28.

Hajiji also said that GRS should move while guided by political principles including development political principle that prioritise achievement and not the promise of endless political rhetoric, i.e. results over rhetoric.

“This principle has become my belief in leading the State Government. I have repeatedly stressed that the value and meaning of the Government’s development agenda is not only to be heard, but should also be seen and felt by the people,” he said.

Hajiji said during the 20 months of the GRS-BN Government implementing the people’s mandate, many achievements have been successfully achieved.
