
SANDAKAN: Marine police here booted two speedboats operated by two men from Sabah waters after they attempted to enter from the Philippines via North Nunuyan waters, on Wednesday.
Sandakan Marine Police Commanding Officer DSP Rusdin Banin said a team on “Op Gelora” spotted the boats moving suspiciously into Sabah waters.
In order to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the team intercepted the boats and escorted the two men and their boats out of the country’s waters.
“They were ordered not to enter Malaysian waters in accordance with the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988,” he said in a statement, Wednesday.
