West Ham United defender Winston Reid is stepping up his recovery from a knee injury.
The Hammers centre-back played for the under-23 side on Wednesday night.
It was the first game Reid managed since he suffered the injury in March 2018.
He has been out for 18 months, but refuses to give up on his career.
The 31-year-old managed 64 minutes in the game and will be hoping for more under-23 appearances to get match sharpness.
The Evening Standard says boss Manuel Pellegrini will slowly integrate him back into the first team squad.
