Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Harry Maguire as a future club captain.
Solskjaer confirmed that Ashley Young will be the club captain this season following Saturday's friendly against AC Milan in Cardiff, but in their scouting process on Maguire United determined that the former Sheffield United and Hull City man will be a leading candidate for the role in the future.
"One of the main attractions when it came to signing Maguire was that the manager felt he had good leadership attributes," a club source told the Daily Star.
"He's now an established international and plays in a position from which he can see how a game is developing.
"Making him captain in the future is certainly something the club are looking at."
