Ariel Jacobs has revealed Romelu Lukaku was ready to quit Manchester United a year ago.

Lukaku was sold by United to Inter Milan in August, however Jacobs says the striker was considering his options after Belgium's 2018 World Cup campaign. And Germany was where he hoped to move.

Jacobs gave Lukaku his debut with Anderlecht in 2009.

And he told Sporza: "I had a pretty long talk with him after the World Cup in Russia.

"Between the lines you could read that after Manchester United, FC Bayern would be his next step, if Robert Lewandowski would go."
