Bournemouth star Diego Rico admits that he is enjoying his extended run in the first team.
The defender is enjoying his best spell at the club since he arrived from Leganes last summer.
It has helped that left backs Charlie Daniels and Lloyd Kelly have been injured.
Rico was involved for the whole game in the 2-1 loss to Wolves at the weekend, his ninth consecutive league start.
The 26-year-old told the Daily Echo: "That's true, it's the longest run since I've been here.
"I need to keep working hard in training to show the gaffer that I deserve to be in the first XI. I believe that is the main point.
"Obviously I am happy to be involved more than last year.
"I know that I need to keep working hard in training to keep on this run."
