Newcastle United skipper Jamaal Lascelles is facing up to three months out due to injury.
The defender suffered knee ligament damage during Saturday's 2-1 win over Bournemouth when he collided with goalkeeper Martin Dubravka in the opening minutes.
And sources say he will now miss the remainder of 2019 and potentially all of January after the extent of the injury was confirmed, says the Daily Mail.
Lascelles has been a key part of their recent upturn in form.
But manager Steve Bruce is confident he has plenty of cover at centre back.
