Roy Hodgson admits Crystal Palace must be at their very best to get anything against Tottenham.
Palace meet Spurs tomorrow.
"We are often tight at the back and away from home, spaces often open up when teams start to chase the game," Hodgson said.
"If we come away tomorrow with points, we've got to give an exceptional performance at both ends of the field."
The Palace manager added: "The defence has been good throughout. The defensive record isn't bad at all.
"If you're keeping clean sheets and keeping tight, you're making it that much harder."
