Brighton manager Graham Potter believes that his side were punished for being too passive in the first half against Leicester City.

The Albion were in control of the game for large periods, but they were unable to make their dominance count when it mattered.

Leicester eventually got a counter attacking goal through Ayoze Perez, before sealing the win with a Jamie Vardy penalty.

Albion head coach Potter told The Argus: "We got a little bit confused in the first half. We were a little bit too passive.

"We couldn't really put any pressure on them and we couldn't really get Solly (March) and Martin (Montoya) as high as we liked.

"We changed a couple of things. Aaron (Mooy) played a little bit more central, Neal (Maupay) a little bit wider and Leo (Trossard) a bit higher.

"It was more an intensity and intent to try and be a bit more aggressive."

He continued: "I probably need to analyse it properly but my sense was we didn't start so well but I thought Leicester started well.

"We had to grow into the game and we defended quite well to a point.

"We probably made a few too many unforced errors, I would say."
