Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde was pleased with Junior Firpo's debut for the friendly defeat of Napoli.
Valverde was eager to get the former Real Betis defender on the pitch.
He said, "He has to adjust. He's just arrived here. He's had two or three training sessions and we have taken him out here to play against a Champions League team that is Napoli. He has suffered in defence but then has self-confidence to attack. You have to improve things over time."
Valverde added: "We have one game left (for preseason) and considering that this week is a bit atypical because the games come very often, you have to see all the players. We have to adapt to the preseason we have."
