Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde says he wants to win the Rakuten Cup ahead of fixtures against Chelsea and Vissel Kobe.
New signings Antoine Griezmann, Frenkie de Jong and Neto are all in the travelling party and members of the squad were in Tokyo at the presentation of the Rakuten Cup.
"We're Barcelona and we always want to win, it's the obligation of this club," Valverde said.
"Our idea is to always maintain our style because it's what the fans ask for.
"We want to win the two matches because we have lots of fans here in Japan and we want to give something back to them."
