Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz has revealed they beat Juventus to the signing of Radamel Falcao.
The Colombia international has been hit by an Achilles injury, having arrived in the summer from AS Monaco.
Cengiz has defended the signing, insisting: "Falcao was not injured when he came to us: a damaged player could not have played two games at that level.
"Many people do not believe it, but they did not know that Falcao, for example, also wanted Juventus."
Falcao joined Gala in September for 5m, signing a three-year deal.
