Sheffield United earned a draw against Bournemouth thanks to a late Billy Sharp equaliser.

Chris Wilder's visitors, back in the top flight for the first time since 2007, looked set to leave the Vitality Stadium empty-handed after defender Chris Mepham's first Cherries goal.

With time ticking away, the 33-year-old Sharp, who struck 23 goals to help the Blades finish second in the Sky Bet Championship in 2018-19, proved his worth.

Blades boss Wilder hailed Sharp as 'Mr Sheffield United' afterwards.

"He was always going to come on when we you're chasing the game but I thought the contribution of all the players was outstanding," Blades boss Wilder said of 33-year-old Sharp.

"We were bold in terms of trying to get back in the game.

"We felt that it was coming and we were nice and bright on a free-kick. You're thinking, 'Who do you want floating about in that area?', it's Mr Sheffield United and I'm delighted for him."
