Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane insists Vinicius Junior is in his plans.
The youngster has fallen off the first team map in recent weeks.
But Zidane says: "He is a player like all the others and now it is his turn to be excluded from the squad, but it does not mean that he is out of the plans.
"But if we realise, last year we didn't have Eden Hazard. Now he is there and he has to work because we focus on him. We know that he will be our future. No one likes it, but they know it. Everyone, not just Vinicius. It is always painful to leave four or five players at home."
