Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to hand Mohamed Salah a break after the African Cup of Nations.
Hosts and tournament favourites Egypt were dumped out of the competition in the round of 16 after suffering a shock 1-0 loss to South Africa in Cairo.
Salah was visibly upset at full-time and appeared close to tears following the surprise elimination.
The Liverpool Echo says he is now expected to be granted three weeks' holiday by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp before linking up with the Reds for pre-season training at the end of the month.
Salah will miss the domestic warm-up games at Tranmere Rovers and Bradford City, the USA tour matches against Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Sporting Lisbon and the Edinburgh friendly against Napoli.
The forward should therefore be back for the training camp in France, which includes Liverpool's final friendly against Lyon in Geneva on July 31.
