Javier Clemente insists he has no regrets not taking charge of Real Madrid.
The former Spain coach admits he came close to taking the job.
He revealed: I was about to train Real Madrid with Ramn Mendoza, but I was in Athletic and I could not go. I do not regret it.
"I was very close to Ramn. Notice, being at Atltico de Madrid I argued with him, being his intimate friend, to defend Jesus Gil. I didn't argue with him, I defended Jesus Gil when they had a very big confrontation because I was his coach."
