Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has set out his blueprint for his transfer plans.

Bruce says he draws on his experience under Sir Alex Ferguson.

He told the Mirror: When you get the spine right, everything else falls into place.

I think Sir Alex would say himself that bringing in Schmeichel, Pallister, myself , Irwin, we all ended up being there ten or 12 years.

It's vitally important that you get that right if you can. If you can get the nucleus and spine of your side and keep it together, that is massive.
