Former Barcelona striker Jordi Cruyff says Frenkie de Jong will prove value for money.
De Jong is already impressing in preseason after his 86m arrival from Ajax.
Cruyff told Marca: "The investment was substantial, but I think he is a very good purchase, also for the future considering his age.
"He has characteristics that he shares with the club and both the player and the club demand the same football."
Former Barca coach Carles Rexach also stated: "I would let him play just before Sergio Busquets. At his age, he should not play just before the defence. He also has a good shot."
"I am a fan of De Jong," Barca legend Hristo Stoichkov adds. "He is versatile, very dedicated and keeps his head cool. He is a great player and will intensify the competition in midfield."
