Telstar coach Andries Jonker admits his Arsenal connection helped seal a deal for Barcelona midfielder Marcus McGuane.
The 20 year-old arrives on a season-long loan.
"I know Marcus from my time in London when he was still playing at Arsenal in the youth academy," said Jonker, who was previously in charge of Arsenal's academy.
"He is a midfielder with an enormous talent, wore the captain's armband for different teams and already made his debut in the firsts of Arsenal, but also for Barcelona.
It is enormously important at his age to have minutes, play games with a lot of resistance in order to get better. He can do that here in Velsen-Zuid. Marcus has an enormous drive and is eager to play with us. I am very happy with his arrival."
