Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says there were plenty of positives in Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Monday night.

The result at Old Trafford leaves United with their worst start to a season in 30 years.

In a laborious opening stanza, it took a moment of quality from Scott McTominay to break the deadlock, with the Scotland international lashing the ball past Bernd Leno from outside the box right on the stroke of half-time.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang then equalised after 58 minutes but not without some controversy, with of course, VAR.

The Gabon international's sublime finish over David De Gea was initially ruled offside. However replays showed record signing Harry Maguire had kept him in play.

Maguire then had a thunderous strike saved by Leno with fifteen minutes remaining, but it wasn't enough as United had to settle for a point.

Despite the result Solskjaer remains confident he is building something special at United.

He told Sky Sports: "We go 1-0 up and then we don't get the second goal that we want to get.

"That's the learning now for this time. Be more cynical, clinical.

"There are so many games we have been 1-0 up. We will learn. It's a bad goal to give away but sometimes you make those passes, you play out and it looks good. We learn from it.

"We are at the start of building something. It's just a bit disappointing that we can't get that second goal."
