Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says the club almost signed Liverpool forward Sadio Mane.
The Senegalese was available after impressing with RB Salzburg in Austria.
However, Mane eventually moved to Southampton and then Anfield, where has blossomed into a superstar.
"We had an interest in Mane, but somehow it didn't work out," Rummenigge told Bild.
"He then went to Southampton and later Liverpool. A shame."
