France coach Didier Deschamps says Manchester City fullback Benjamin Mendy deserves his recall.
Deschamps has selected Mendy for next week's Euros qualifiers, having questioned the player's off-field behaviour when he was injured.
But he explained: "He had a deficit with his knee injury. Whenever there are stops, the player is obliged to find rhythm. I do not despair for him, as for others, he understands that the field is not everything.
"As any player who has a serious injury, it changes the balance of the body and everything must be done to be well outside (the pitch) too. When I say everything, that's all, it does not prevent him to have a certain freedom.
"Now he seems to be on the right road."
