Aston Villa midfielder Anwar El Ghazi admits he has regrets over his departure from Ajax.

El Ghazi says he'd have like to have stayed longer in Amsterdam.

He explained to Ziggo Sport: "If I had to choose something to redo, I might have stayed longer, even though I had to leave Ajax.

"Also because I knew that Marcel Keizer had moved on to the first team half a year later.

"That might have given me a new chance. Then maybe I could've proved myself again."

On a Holland recall, El Ghazi added: "I am playing in the Premier League again, so there is a good chance that I will be called. But I just have to keep talking with my legs. Who knows, I may be called, I am ready, I am ready. I play not for nothing in the strongest competition in the world. And then it's up to Ronald Koeman."
