WWE Money in the Bank is set to take place at some point in 2026, but the date of the Premium Live Event has been changed twice already.

In recent years, MITB has, you could argue, become one of the biggest PLEs in the wrestling calendar.

It generally takes place at some point over the summer, but it has now been moved to October 10, with it suggested that this is because of the touring schedule.

Touring schedule played a role in Money in the Bank date change

Initially, Money in the Bank was planned for August 29, before being moved to September 6 and then the aforementioned October date.

Previously, Fightful had reported that the date of the PLE had changed because of a scheduling conflict with broadcast partners.

However, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has now said that he’s heard something different about why MITB is taking place in October instead.

He explained: “I was told the MITB issue had more to do with the touring schedule and the production trucks would be too far away to do the PLE that day, so they moved it.”

Whether WWE will change the date of the event again remains to be seen, though it seems unlikely at this stage.

Regardless, it should be an event most fans are looking forward to as it gives us a clear idea of which superstars the company wants to push hard and hand Money in the Bank contracts to.

In the meantime, WWE are building towards their Night of Champions PLE later this month.

SummerSlam is then set to take place over two nights at the beginning of August. But because Money in the Bank has been moved again, there is now no PLE scheduled for September this year.

That may well change in the coming months, of course, but we will have to see what the company decides to do.
