A golden celebration of love and lifelong partnership

Meycauayan Mayor Henry Resurreccion Villarica and Bulacan 4th District Rep. Linabelle Ruth Ramos Villarica marked a milestone as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of vows at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Bonifacio Global City.

Surrounded by family and close friends, the couple — campus sweethearts whose love story has endured for five decades — reaffirmed their commitment in a ceremony that reflected their faith and gratitude.

The celebration continued with a reception at Shangri-La The Fort, where family and friends gathered for an evening of dinner, tributes and performances honoring the couple's enduring partnership.

Directed by Nick Lizaso, the evening's centerpiece was a 30-minute theatrical production that brought the Villaricas' love story to life. Real-life couples and stage performers Isay Alvarez-Seña and Robert Seña, together with Rissey Reyes Robinson and Vic Robinson, portrayed the older and younger Henry and Linabelle, respectively. Their performances traced the couple's journey from university sweethearts to devoted partners in family life and public service.

Written by Adriana Agcaoili and narrated by Issa Litton, the production featured live accompaniment by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra under Maestro Rodel Colmenar, with dance performances by the Mari Dance Theater Company. The presentation revisited the romance that began at the University of the Philippines, accompanied by popular songs from the late 1960s and 1970s, while celebrating a life built on family, faith and public service to Meycauayan City and Bulacan's 4th District.

Adding a personal touch to the celebration, the Villaricas' daughter, Atty. Hailey Villarica-Ong, performed a lively boogie number inspired by her mother's love for the performing arts. She was joined by her siblings — Lester, Harvey and Lerwyn — who shared memories of growing up under their parents' guidance.

The next generation also took the stage as grandchildren Luki, Veni and Helina performed a hip-hop number alongside their parents, while eldest granddaughter Hope delivered a musical performance for the guests.

Guests enjoyed Shangri-La The Fort's culinary offerings, accompanied by live orchestral music and capped by an elaborate dessert spread.

The Villaricas' golden anniversary celebrated not only 50 years of marriage but also a partnership founded on enduring love, faith, family values and a shared commitment to public service — one that has inspired both their loved ones and the community they have served through the years.
