Silverstone saw history made once again as the Lego Group presented the top three drivers and the winning constructor with something new for the British Grand Prix 2025 podium: Trophies made entirely from LEGO elements.

After 52 thrilling laps in the rain and sunshine, McLaren’s Lando Norris stood on the top step, marking his first win at Silverstone, joined by Oscar Piastri in second, and Nico Hülkenberg, who clinched his first ever F1 podium in third. The McLaren team also took home the constructor’s trophy.

Each of the four awards were built fully from Lego bricks and designed to honour the 75th anniversary of F1 at the very circuit where it all began in 1950.

Silverstone CEO Stuart Pringle called it a fitting tribute. “What a moment to celebrate. Since hosting the first round of the Formula 1 World Championship at Silverstone 75 years ago, we have had some iconic podium celebrations, and I could not think of a better way to make 2025 unique.”

The brick-built trophies drew inspiration from the classic golden Royal Automobile Club trophy and were created in the Lego Group’s model shop in Billund, Denmark where they took seven builders over 210 hours to complete.

The winner’s trophy, presented to Norris after the official ceremony, featured gold detailing and stood over 59cm tall, and included 2,717 individual Lego elements. The second and third place trophies were built in white and featured red and blue detailing, while McLaren’s constructors’ trophy came in dark blue and gold.

Fans at Silverstone were the first to see the builds in person, but those attending the Lego F1 Family Watch Party at Battersea Power Station in London also got the chance to take a close look at a replica of the winning driver’s trophy.

The British Grand Prix 2025 trophies are the latest development in the ongoing multi-year partnership between the Lego Group and F1, which just a couple months ago saw 10 full size, drivable Lego F1 cars at the Miami Grand Prix Drivers Parade. We can expect to see more fan activations throughout the 2025 season.

Julia Goldin, Chief Product and Marketing Officer at the Lego Group, said the goal was to create something unique for such a milestone year.

“The legacy of Silverstone is incredible, and we hope fans are inspired by these unique trophy builds that demonstrate how starting with just one Lego element, there are limitless possibilities to what you can create.”

Formula 1’s Chief Commercial Officer Emily Prazer added, “It’s been fantastic to work with the LEGO Group on developing really creative and engaging moments to drive interest and curiosity in both our existing and new fans, and to inject some additional fun into such a celebratory moment as the trophy presentation.”

Indeed, the British Grand Prix 2025 trophies were a fun and fitting tribute to the historic F1 circuit — and made a little more playful thanks to Lego.
