
Anime lovers, brace yourselves as the magic and beauty of Studio Ghibli is coming to Bangkok this May. Not on screen, but on stage: here are all the details for the upcoming Studio Ghibli concert in Bangkok.
For one night only on 29 May 2025, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra will bring some of Ghibli’s most iconic music to life at the Thailand Cultural Centre in Bangkok, specifically at 19:00 in the main hall.
Recognised and revered globally for classic films like Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Princess Mononoke, Studio Ghibli has long captivated cinephiles worldwide. With its alluring visuals, emotional storytelling, and beautiful scores, the Japanese animation studio is a global icon in both the animation and film industries.
Conducted by Shinpei Sasaki, the evening features powerhouse performances by celebrated theatre star Seiko Nijizuma and acclaimed pianist Tomoharu Ushida. Adding a local touch to the experience, the Thai Youth Orchestra will open the concert.
Expect to be swept into the nostalgic, emotional world of Ghibli’s most beloved scores. This includes ‘One Summer Day’ from Spirited Away, whimsical melodies from Kiki’s Delivery Service, as well as moving tracks from My Neighbor Toto and How’s Moving Castle.
