In a setback to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Advocate Sandeep Kumar, District President of the party’s Legal Cell in Hoshiarpur, has resigned from his post as well as the party’s primary membership with immediate effect.

In his resignation letter addressed to the Punjab Legal Cell President, Sandeep Kumar said he had taken the decision after careful consideration. He stated that he was finding it increasingly difficult to support and agree with certain recent policy decisions taken by the party leadership.

As a legal professional, he said the policies appeared to be moving away from the core principles of justice, public welfare and the original vision that party members had pledged to uphold.

He added that his conscience and personal beliefs did not permit him to continue in a leadership position under the present circumstances.

Sandeep Kumar thanked party workers and supporters for their cooperation during his tenure. Copies of his resignation letter were also sent to Punjab AAP President Aman Arora, Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia and the Hoshiarpur MLA.
