
Ahead of the Assembly elections, AAP leaders utilised the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected chairperson of the zila parishad, Angad Deep Singh Sohal, held in Tarn Taran on Wednesday, to present a united face.
A large number of leaders from the local AAP unit attended the oath-taking ceremony held at Pendu Vikas Bhawan.
Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian and AAP general secretary and state media in-charge Baltej Singh Pannu, along with several MLAs, also attended the event.
In his address, Khuddian praised Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for his “honest and hardworking” efforts to make Punjab a “Rangla Punjab” and the most prosperous state in the country.
He said, under Mann’s leadership, revolutionary reforms had been introduced in education, health, electricity and infrastructure.
Pannu said the Mann government was signalling a positive direction by entrusting important responsibilities to young leaders.
Vice-chairperson of the zila parishad, Jatinder Kaur, also assumed charge during the ceremony.
On assuming charge, Sohal said he would strive to live up to the party’s expectations and dedicate himself to public service.
