Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will be holding a meeting with AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday, where they will focus on the preparations for the 2027 Assembly poll.
Sources said the party leadership wanted to finalise its candidates well in advance so that they get a few months to work in their respective segments and gain as much ground as possible before the Election Commission announces the poll. Meanwhile, CM Mann will also attend the NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi on Thursday. The two leaders will head to Bathinda on Friday to hold a roadshow. Kejriwal will be in Punjab till Sunday.
On June 13, the party leadership will attend a traders’ event in Jalandhar. Another public event is planned in Mohali, where Kejriwal and Mann will participate in a roadshow for newly elected Mayor Sarbjit Singh.
Buoyed by its recent success in local body elections, AAP is moving to complete the process of appointing mayors where it secured victories.
