- Former Wales captain and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey completed the London Marathon in an impressive time of 3 hours, 30 seconds.
- Ramsey participated in the race to support “It's Never You”, a charity founded by friends whose six-year-old son died from a rare cancer, rhabdomyosarcoma.
- “I can't imagine what they went through and what they are going through, but they've been an absolute inspiration to me, my family and many others,” Ramsey told BBC Sport before the race.
- The 35-year-old, who recently announced his retirement from professional football, finished ahead of celebrities such as Cynthia Erivo and Laura Robson.
- His marathon time was just three seconds slower than former Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel, who completed the race in 2:59:08.
