KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 - National men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik failed to advance to the final of the China Masters after losing to India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty in Guangdong yesterday.

In the semi-final clash at the Shenzhen Arena, Aaron-Wooi Yik lacked form as the world No.2 pair fell to the tournament eighth seeds 17-21, 14-21 in just 41 minutes.

It was Satwik-Chirag’s fifth win over the Thai Open and Singapore Open champions this season, from a total of 16 meetings between them.

Earlier, newly crowned world champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei put on a spirited performance to oust home favourites and world No.1 pair Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping 22-24, 21-19, 21-17 to reach the final.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei will face Thailand’s Decaphol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran in their bid for the prestigious title.
