Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik advance to the World Championships 2026 quarterfinals after compatriots Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun withdraw due to illness

KUALA LUMPUR: There was no all-Malaysian clash at the World Championships 2026 today as top men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik moved through to the quarterfinals after receiving a walkover in the round of 16.

The fourth seeds were handed the victory after compatriots Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun withdrew from the scheduled match at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.

“World number four, Aaron-Wooi Yik advanced to the last eight after receiving a walkover following Kai Wun’s withdrawal due to illness,” the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) said in their Facebook page tonight.

In the quarterfinals, Aaron-Wooi Yik will face the winner of the match between China’s Hu Ke Yuan-Lin Xiang Yi and Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard of Denmark
