KUCHING (Oct 21): The Sarawak 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) has been described as a bridge between the present and 2030 ― integrating the state’s economic ambitions, social priorities, and environmental commitments into a unified vision of a resilient, competitive, compassionate, and sustainable Sarawak.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the 13MP represents the next phase of Sarawak’s transformation, building upon the achievements of previous development plans while charting a clear path towards 2030.

He said Sarawak’s steady progress is the outcome of long-term planning, disciplined execution, and sound governance ― a reflection of the government’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth.

“Transformation is a continuous journey that demands consistency and commitment from every generation. Each plan builds on the last, and each generation carries the work forward,” he said when speaking ahead of the launch of the Sarawak 13th Malaysia Plan in conjunction with the Sarawak Economic Conference 2025 at a hotel here yesterday.

To ensure the 13MP delivers tangible and measurable results, Abang Johari said the state government has strengthened its planning and implementation framework to make every initiative is outcome-driven and accountable.

This approach, he added, involves setting clear targets, enhancing coordination, and ensuring continuous monitoring so that every ringgit spent generates real impact for the people.

“All ministries and agencies will prepare detailed action plans aligned with the 13MP strategies, supported by regular performance reviews to drive better execution, stronger outcomes, and improved quality of life for all Sarawakians.

“Our focus is simple — better execution, better outcomes, and better lives for all Sarawakians,” he emphasised.
