LABUAN: The effectiveness of Sabah MACC is being questioned in the light of revelations in court in the State’s biggest corruption case that it had yet to ascertain the truth of serious allegations made against two former Sabah Ministers when they presided over the State Water Department.
An activist, Lau Seng Kiat, said it is not fair for former Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan and former Deputy CM Datuk Raymond Tan to be shamed as having received kickbacks and Sabah MACC just let matters be.
“I would imagine that Sabah MACC would have immediately questioned or taken statements from both these leaders on whether the allegations made by their (MACC) own key witness in his sworn testimony had any basis.
