Kota Kinabalu: Dr Grethel Aguilar (pic), Deputy Director of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) admitted in her address at 2nd Asia Parks Congress held at the Sabah International Convention Centre recently that the environmental movement has made mistakes.
“As one of Asia’s first large and physical gatherings of environmental experts since the start of the pandemic, this congress is a chance for a new beginning. Since the modern concept of protected areas was born 200 years ago, these areas have greatly helped humanity conserve nature.”
