SEREMBAN - Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan has confirmed the actor and director Datuk Seri Eizlan Yusof has joined the party, adding that names of several other leaders will be announced soon.
“Datuk Eizlan Yusof has officially become a member and there are many more,” he said when met after a ceramah called Gelombang Kebangkitan Rakyat, here last night.
Previously, it was reported that Eizlan had declined to comment on speculations if he would join Perikatan Nasional (PN) under the Pas ticket.
Takiyuddin said Pas has been receiving between 3,500 and 4,000 new members every month.
“Today alone there are more than 3,000 including Tan Sri Anuar Musa and it is understood that there will be more people including at the state level,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said Pas has no objections to consider Annuar as a candidate in the upcoming state elections.
“Annuar didn’t give any conditions. He (Annuar) joined Pas to fight along with Pas without any conditions,” he said.
He said as a political leader in Kelantan, Annuar would be capable of bringing a wave of victory to PN.
