MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone "Ada" is now moving eastward over the Philippine Sea east of Northern Luzon as it was seen to weaken into a low pressure area by Wednesday, according to the state-run weather agency.
Nathaniel Servando, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) chief, said the tropical depression, which was some 970 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, was no longer dumping heavy rains as it did few days ago particularly in the provinces of Bicol Region and the Visayas.
Moving at 25 kilometers per hour (kph), Ada has maximum sustained winds of 55kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70kph, Pagasa’s 5 p.m. bulletin said.
Meanwhile, Servando said the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Marinduque would be experiencing cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon or "amihan."
The same weather system is also affecting Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and the rest of Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon where partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated light rains would prevail.
The rest of the country will experience the same weather pattern but due to localized thunderstorms over 24 hours, the national weather bureau said.
