SHAH ALAM - AEON Bank, Malaysia’s first digital Islamic bank, has introduced MyTentera ID integration into its digital banking application’s electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) verification process.
This will allow Malaysian armed forces personnel to complete account onboarding more seamlessly and securely.
The initiative, introduced ahead of Hari Pahlawan, reflects AEON Bank’s efforts to strengthen financial inclusion by providing more convenient digital banking access for eligible members of the armed forces across all ranks.
Through the integration, armed forces personnel with a valid MyTentera ID can download the AEON Bank application, complete the digital verification process and activate their Savings Account-i anytime and anywhere.
Following successful onboarding, customers will gain access to AEON Bank’s range of Shariah-compliant financial products and services, including the Savings Account-i, AEON Bank x Visa Debit Card-i, Term Deposit-i, Savings Pot, DuitNow QR, Zakat services, Takaful offerings, JomPAY and utility bill payments.
Customers can also access various digital payment solutions through AEON Bank’s strategic partners and merchant network.
The bank has also introduced digital features designed to enhance customer engagement and financial management, including Neko Missions, described as Malaysia’s first gamified digital banking interactive rewards programme, and Neko Sensei, an artificial intelligence-powered personal financial coach.
AEON Bank said the MyTentera ID integration forms part of its wider commitment to remove barriers to banking access and improve the overall digital banking experience for Malaysians.
The initiative also highlights the growing role of digital banking platforms in supporting financial accessibility among communities that require flexible and secure banking solutions.
For eligible deposit-based products offered by AEON Bank and AEON Bank Biz, including Savings Account-i, Savings Pot, Term Deposit-i, Business Current Account-i and Biz Term Deposit-i, deposits are protected up to RM250,000 per depositor.
AEON Bank is a member of Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM), with deposit protection provided automatically and free of charge.
The bank said it will continue strengthening its digital capabilities while developing innovative Syariah-compliant banking solutions that support customers’ lifestyles, contribute to the growth of Islamic banking in the region and support Malaysia’s digital economy.
