Aerial images reveal scale of destruction after Venezuela earthquakes

Aerial images show widespread destruction at Los Cocos beach in La Guaira state after two earthquakes struck Venezuela.

Buildings lie collapsed along the coastline as rescue teams and volunteers search through debris for survivors.

Emergency crews continue working across unstable ruins, with damage visible along much of the shoreline.

A father and his son are pulled alive from the rubble of a collapsed building almost four days after the quakes. American and French rescue teams carry out the operation before the pair are taken to hospital by ambulance.

Authorities say nearly 189 buildings have collapsed, with the death toll rising to around 1,500.
