After Chicken Adobo, Lumpia added to menu in Toronto

MANILA, Philippines — In recognition of Filipino tennis ace Alex Eala and the thousands of fans she draws, the National Bank Open in Toronto added lumpia to its food menu.

A Filipino favorite, lumpia was made available at a food stall ahead of Eala's round of 16 match against Belinda Bencic at the Sobeys Stadium on Monday.

Priced at $12 or around P730, the lumpia served at the tournament comes with chicharron crumbles, dehydrated garlic, crushed peanuts, and sinamak (spiced vinegar) as a dip, along with banana ketchup on top.

The Chicken adobo rice bowl was the first Filipino dish on the Toronto food menu.
