The PGI-D report was released by the Union Ministry of Education for the academic year 2024-2025. It assesses 70 plus indicators across six categories: outcomes, effective classroom transactions, infrastructure, school safety, digital learning, and governance processes, with a total of 600 points.
Haryana has secured Prachesta-3 grade in the Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0 report scoring in the range of 581 to 640 points out of 1000. Haryana scored 591.4 in 2023-2024 and 587.1 in 2024-2025 session to maintain Prachesta-3 grading.
The state’s inclusion in Prachesta-3 band indicates strong, balanced performance, sharing a tier with states like Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Assam and Goa.
Gurugram had maintained Uttam-3 grade, yet its score had dived down compared to the previous session. In 2022-2023, it scored 422, and in 2023-24, 429 points. It scored 172/290 in outcomes and 67/90 in effective classroom transactions in 2024-2025. However, it had scored 182/290 in outcomes and 79/90 in effective classroom transactions in 2023-24.

Top-tier districts like Gurugram have successfully leveraged automated attendance, smart classrooms, and ICT infrastructure. Lower-performing southern districts like Nuh were held back by lower baseline learning outcomes in language and mathematics, high student-to-teacher ratios, and lower retention rates in secondary schools.
Mahendragarh, which had landed at the lower Prachesta-2 grade with 308 out of 600 points during 2023-2024, has shown improvement by scoring 345 points to upgrade to Prachesta-1 grading.
