Chelsea made an attempt to trump Arsenal for Gabriel Jesus.
Chelsea tried to hijack Gabriel Jesus' move to Arsenal days before he completed the transfer from Manchester City.
Tottenham were also reported to be in the running for Jesus but the Gunners won the £45million race for the Brazilian.
Jesus' agent Marcelo Pettinati revealed the late bid, saying: “Chelsea were one of the teams that tried to hijack the Arsenal move.
“They tried very hard in the final days to get him. By that point, we'd already chosen our new project."
