The agent of Udinese winger Gerard Deulofeu admits a move to Tottenham was close in January.
However, he admits Deulofeu's knee setback saw him remain in Udine.
Stefano Antonelli told TMW: "He didn't go to Roma but above all to Tottenham which was the closest team. He didn't talk about it and that was right, it was a confidential negotiation.
"An operation practically completed. Then the footballer, due to a physical resentment, had to clean his knee and so on.
"So everything was blown up.'
