KENINGAU: Agrobank plays an important role in helping to strengthen the agro-food ecosystem through various initiatives and services tailored to benefit farmers, breeders, fishermen and agro-food industry players, said Agriculture and Food Security Deputy Minister Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup.
According to him, as a development financial institution, Agrobank bears the responsibility of strengthening the country’s food security through its financing activities.
He said Agrobank offers financing that spans beyond agricultural activities to cover every component within the agricultural value chain, in line with the aspirations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Government.
“Agrobank plays a vital role in helping the agro-food ecosystem by providing financing, business support, consulting services, industry networks and innovation support.

Additionally, Agrobank is offering RM888 to 50 lucky customers through the Heng Loong Huat campaign.
“It is aimed to encourage Agrobank customers to make cashless payments using Agro Debit-I and promote saving and prudent financial practices through AgroPrimaS.
“Initiatives like this are highly encouraged to ensure every Agrobank merchant and customer has cash reserve or savings in case of any untoward incident,” said Arthur.
He said the Ministry would continue to support initiatives undertaken by departments and agencies to cultivate agri-community businesses, thereby revolutionising transactions in the industry with cash-free methods.
“I understand that this initiative is not the first for Agrobank because it has launched many campaigns of this nature.
